Boat and
Dock De-icer and Water Agitators by Kasco
Kasco de-icers are designed to prevent the formation of damaging ice
around docks and boats. Thousands of these units are being used in marinas, harbors,
waterfront develop- ments and recreational ponds to prevent costly ice damage.
Kasco de-icers come complete with a 25' power cord and two 20' suspension
ropes.
3 ways
to install de-icers:
Suspension ropes - hang de-icer between two fixed
points. Ropes are included.
Dock mount - using the optional dock mount lets you
attach the de-icer to a dock or piling. Dock mount is adjustable for depth and
angle.
Floatation kit - suspending the de-icer horizontally
with this floatation kit creates an elongated pattern of open water. Kit includes
stainless steel mounting hardware and a form float.

To de-ice a shallow water area, direct the flow of warmer water from a deeper area into
the shallower area. Remember, a de-icer works because it draws warmer, denser water
from the bottom and circulates it upward to the surface, preventing ice formation or
melting existing ice.
It is often easier to de-ice a boat by installing the de-icer at or near
the bow, angled toward the stern. If the water flow is directed toward the shore or
a retaining wall, it will flair, forming a desirable "T-shaped" de-icing
pattern.
