| Pond Kit Setup Diagram
The pump sits inside the skimmer (shown on left) and the pump
sucks in the water from the pond over skimmer flap, filters the water as it goes through
the skimmer and the water is pushed out into the flexible pvc tubing and travels through
the pvc tubing around to either the right or left side of the AquaFalls. The water then
passes up through the 3 filter pads and through the lava rocks or bioballs ( not
included) and flows off the AquaFalls
waterfall into the pond. The skimmer and AquaFalls should be at opposite ends
of the pond for optimal water circulation. The AquaFalls has a built-in rock ledge
along the top so you can camouflage the AquaFalls into the nearby
landscape. The AquaFalls is
great not only because it offers a biological and mechanical filter as well as a waterfall
all-in-one, but offers either a right or left plumbing assembly to attach the flexible pvc
pump tubing to. This offers greater flexibility in your landscape design as well as
provides for you an optional drain area for the AquaFalls. What you can do is get
one of our ball valves (or get one from a hardware store) and attach it to the other AquaFalls' opening that you are not
using. The valve can be kept shut when the AquaFalls is in use and when you
decide to clean the unit you can open up the ball valve to let out any silt and debris
that may be in there. This is a great feature to have! If you don't want to
use the other side as a potential drain, a bulkhead fitting plug comes with the unit so
you can plug the other opening and keep water from exiting.
The AquaFalls can
be sunk into the ground for a stream effect or raised to create a greater water drop
(you'll need purchase an additional pond
liner if you plan on having a stream). Pond designs can naturally vary with your
creativity, but the concept of having the skimmer and AquaFalls at opposite ends of the
pond as well as the important features of each unit, are some of the reasons that make
these deluxe pond kits exceptional!
