*Hint: For winter deicing/aeration, get a larger unit than what
is recommended in the chart. Put the air diffuser on a bucket or aquatic plant pot
inside the pond so the diffuser sits about 2' from the top of the pond's surface.
This will provide more water movement near the pond's surface to keep the water 'open'
(from freezing) during the winter and still provide aeration to the pond. In the
spring time, you can put the diffuser back on to the bottom of the pond. |
Ornamental Pond Aerators These
small linear air compressor kits are extremely energy efficient, long lasting and
incredibly quiet. Popular for use in koi and ornamental ponds for aeration,
circulation and de-icing. These high quality compressors are capable of a minimum of
25,000 hours of continuous duty operation without any service! Average life span is
7-9 years. Excellent for use in summer or winter, these pond aerators are a real
value! Motors are 115 volt with 6' cords. Package includes compressor, 15'
weighted tubing, and an air diffuser. Air diffusers should not be located in the
deep part of the pond - that area should be left undisturbed for the fish.
Outdoor models can operate without further protection from the weather.
Indoor models can be used outdoors but need to be protected from the weather.
These aerators are super quiet! Motors often run for 7-9 years! The
"W" next to the product code indicates a weatherproof motor. Those without
a "W" require protection from the elements such as a bucket or faux stone cover
over it but still allowing fresh oxygen to enter the compressor and to keep the motor
cooled.
